IPL 2019: Records tumble as Warner, Bairstow hit tons

The pair made the highest opening partnership in IPL history as well as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s highest partnership for any wicket.

Bairstow and Warner's opening partnership of 185 is SRH's highest stand for any wicket.   -  IPL

Warner (100*) and Bairstow (114)

This is the second time that two batsmen scored centuries in the same IPL innings. The first time was Virat Kohli (109) and A. B. de Villiers (129*) for Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Gujarat Lions at Rajkot in 2016 during the highest ever IPL partnership of an unbroken 229 for the second wicket.

This is now the highest opening partnership in IPL history, overtaking Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn’s 184* for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Gujarat Lions at Rajkot in 2017.

This is also the highest partnership for Sunrisers Hyderabad for any wicket, overtaking Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson’s unbroken 176-run opening stand against the Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla in 2018.

This is David Warner’s fourth IPL century, tied in second place with Virat Kohli and Shane Watson, and behind Chris Gayle’s 6.

This is the second highest score against Royal Challenger Bangalore after Kings XI Punjab’s 232/2 at Dharamsala in 2011.

Sandeep Sharma dismissed Virat Kohli for the sixth time. Only Ashish Nehra (6) has the big scalp of the RCB captain more than five times.
