Yuzvendra Chahal on Saturday became the 14th bowler in IPL history to take 100 wickets. Playing his 84th IPL match, the Haryana leg-break bowler reached the landmark by removing Yusuf Pathan, who holed out at sweeper cover.
Chahal is the seventh spinner to have 100 or more IPL wickets, with Amit Mishra, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, R. Ashwin, Sunil Narine, and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of him on the list.
The 28-year-old is the second bowler this season to reach 100 IPL wickets after Chennai Super Kings' Jadeja got to the landmark in the match against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Chahal has once again been the lead spinner for Royal Challengers, taking his wickets tally to 17 in the 14th and final league fixture of the season.
Chahal's wickets and the control he has provided haven't had a positive impact on RCB's bowling attack, which has again struggled to stem the hemorrhaging of runs this season.
