IPL auctions: K. L. Rahul goes to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 11 crore

India opener K.L. Rahul went to Kings XI Punjab for a whopping Rs 11 crore. Rahul had represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the previous editions.

Despite a poor run of form at last year's IPL, Kings XI didn't shy away from shelling out a huge sum for the Karnataka batsman.

Rahul scored 725 runs from 39 games at a strike-rate of 125.65 - among them, 397 came in 2016 - while he was with RCB - at a strike-rate of 146.69.

 

However, the Karnataka batsman did not have a great outing last year and was out of the national side for a long time due to injury. But that did not stop the franchises from investing heavily on him.
