It was a Sunday to remember for Rajasthan rookie spinner Rahul Chahar as he was snapped up by Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs 1.9 crore. The young spinner, who featured for the Rising Pune Supergiant last season, saw some heavy bidding and finally was brought on board by Mumbai Indians.

The youngster performed reasonably well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 and scalped the wickets of Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir. It was touted that he would do well in the auction. But then, perhaps, not many thought he would fetch Rs 1.9 crore, starting at a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
