Chennai Super Kings prevailed in a thriller against Lucknow Super Giants to register their first win in the tournament.
Moeen Ali picked four wickets and shifted the momentum towards Chennai as the spinner tied down the Lucknow batsmen and helped Chennai fight back.
Moeen Ali applied brakes on the Lucknow’s batting by picking quick wickets as CSK stormed back after being hit by Kyle Mayers’ assault.
Kyle Mayers exhibited his batting prowess with a brilliant 22-ball 53 - his second consecutive half-century to give Lucknow a bright start. However, the batsmam was undone by a Moeen Ali delivery.
Kyle Mayers got off the blocks in a falsh and took on the CSK pacers to give his side a fabulous start in chase of 218.
MS Dhoni became the seventh batsman to enter the 5,000-run club as the CSK skipper reached the landmark with two monstrous sixes in the final over.
Ravi Bishnoi exhibited his wicket-taking skills by picking three wickets and ending with figures of 4-0-28-3. Bishnoi came at a time when the CSK openers were going hammer and tongs and provided the breakthrough by removing Rituraj Gaikwad. The leg-spinner went on pick the wickets of Shivam Dube and Moeen Ali.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was in sublime touch with the willow and hammered the Lucknow bowlers all over the park. The CSK batsman set up a batting exhibition in front of his home fans to give Chennai a brilliant start.
Ruturaj Gaikwad hit back to back half-centuries and continued his wonderful form in the tournament. Ruturaj scored a 25-ball fifty striking at 200.00.
Lucknow skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first against MS Dhoni-led Chennai. While Lucknow made one change, Chennai went with an unchanged Playing XI.
