Shikhar Dhawan raises his bat after scoring a superb half-century in a crunch game against Bangalore.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's Live coverage of Match 55 of IPL 2020 between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Delhi Capitals beats Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets to book the No.2 spot. Both Delhi and Bangalore qualify for the Playoffs.  SRH needs to win against Mumbai Indians to take the remaining one spot. KKR will be closely watching that game.

DC 138/4 after 18 overs: Bangalore and Delhi qualify for the Playoffs and the winner of this game will take the No.2 spot. Meanwhile, Rahane perishes after playing a rash shot.

DC 134/3 after 17 overs: Shreyas Iyer fails to stay till the end as Shahbaz finishes his quota 4-0-26-2. Pant walks out and Delhi should play sensible cricket to book the No.2 spot.

DC 128/2 after 16 overs: Bangalore survive and they will be in the hunt as the match is bound to stretch over the 17.3 limit mark.

DC 121/2 after 15 overs: Excellent half-century from Rahane and this will bosst his confidence ahead of the knock-outs. Class act from the India vice-captain.

DC 115/2 after 14 overs: Kohli needs his bowlers to stretch the match till the final over but Delhi needs 38 runs in 36 balls.

DC 109/2 after 13 overs: Soft dismissal and Dhawan departs for a well-made 54 off 41 balls. Tried to paddle Shahbaz Ahmed but hit it to a running Shivam Dube at short fine leg. Skipper Shreyas Iyer joins Rahane.

DC 99/1 after 12 overs: Fifty for Dhawan and what a gem of a knock under pressure. Rahane changes levers as he smacks Udana for a boundary and the partnership is worth 80. Bangalore needs a miracle.

DC 86/1 after 11 overs: Dhawan is five runs away from his half-century and what a grand comeback this has been after two setbacks. Delhi motoring nicely.

DC 81/1 after 10 overs: The game is slowly but surely slipping away from Bangalore's grip and given the current situation, Delhi should get before the 17th over. RCB's NRR will be dented and KKR's hope goes up in the air.

DC 73/1 after 9 overs: Dhawan releases the pressure as he slog-sweeps Chahal over the mid-wicket for a boundary as seven runs come from the over. Delhi will be happy with the way things are progressing.

DC 66/1 after 8 overs: Dhawan survives an LBW call but the umpire denies it and it stays despite HawkEye suggesting the ball was hitting the stumps. Rahane and Dhawan are being watchful.

DC 62/1 after 7 overs: It's such a treat to watch Rahane play those sweep shots. Connects perfectly with the right balance and threads the gaps perfectly. Delhi on cruise mode.

DC 53/1 after 6 overs: Excellent start from Delhi and despite losing Shaw, Dhawan and Rahane ensured they rebuild and drive the men in blue in chase of 153. Need to be cautious though.

DC 42/1 after 5 overs: Rahane gets his sweep shot and connects well to get a boundary as Delhi motorning nicely in chase of 153.

DC 34/1 after 4 overs: Dhawan has raced away to 21 and he is dealing in boundaries. This time he times beautifully to drive Siraj past the bowler for a bowler.

DC 28/1 after 3 overs: There is no stopping for Dhawan as he collects another boundary before Ajinkya Rahane plays a quiet over. Rahane is apt for these kind of situations and will be happy to drop anchor.

DC 19/1 after 2 overs: Prithvi Shaw's poor IPL run continues as the opener after fetching a boundary, falls early. Mohammed Siraj produces a peach of a delivery that squared up Shaw and the batsman's stumps were all over the place. Kohli is pumped up and so is Bangalore. It needs wickets in cluster.

DC 11/0 after 1 over: Shikhar Dhawan and Delhi sprint off as the southpaw nails Chris Morris through the covers for a boundary. Prithvi Shaw is also off the mark.

An animated Virat Kohli in the huddle and there is a lot at stake for both the teams. It's Prithvi Shaw along with Shikhar Dhawan for Delhi and they would be itching to get off to a flying start. It will be Chris Morris with the new ball.

Here is the scenario: Delhi Capitals would need to score at least 134 runs to keep its NRR ahead of KKR, if it loses today. Meanwhile, RCB's main aim is to ensure DC bats at least 17.3 overs to keep its NRR ahead of KKR.

Excellent first half from Delhi as it has got a real chance to end as the No.2 team and qualify for the playoffs. Anrich Nortje picked three wickets as sans Devdutt Padikkal, none of the batsmen got going and special mention for the spin duo of Axar Patel and R Ashwin as they chocked Bangalore in the middle and even the great ABD, failed to tee off. Back for the chase in a while.

End of Innings: RCB 152/7 in 20 overs

RCB 145/5 after 19 overs: De Villiers smokes Rabada's full toss high over deep square leg and Dube then lofts the bowler over extra cover for a boundary. However, Rabada returns to dismiss Dube, who did play a cameo.

RCB 134/4 after 18 overs: Shivam Dube hits Daniel Sams for a maximum and then fetches a boundary to give Bangalore much-needed impetus. RCB needs at least 150 to gives its bowlers something to defend.

RCB 117/4 after 17 overs: Rabada comes back to bowl a gem of an over as he gives just five from his third over. Over to De Villiers in the last three overs.

RCB 112/4 after 16 overs: Anrich Nortje has dented Bangalore with the wickets of Padikkal and Chris Morris as De Villiers is left stranded at the other end.

RCB 103/2 after 15 overs: Padikkal gets to his fifty and it's been a hard work for the opener. He has got his eye in and should look to finish big with De Viliers in company.

RCB 90/2 after 14 overs: Axar and Ashwin have denied any momemtum to the Bangalore batsmen as they have to reach the deliveries and with Axar bowling slower through the air, Padikkal is struggling to time his shots. Ab de Villiers joins Padikkal.

RCB 83/2 after 13 overs: Top stuff from Ashwin as he gets the prized scalp of Kohli, who gets deceived by the flight and ends up hitting it out to Marcus Stoinis, who juggles to complete the catch at deep mid-wicket. Ashwin finishes with 4-0-18-1

RCB 81/1 after 12 overs: Kohli is hurting Delhi for dropping him as he dances down the track and lofts Axar over long-on and the fifty-run partnership is up.

RCB 68/1 after 11 overs: Kohli has decided to attack and after a swing and a miss, the RCB captain smacks Rabada over extra cover for a boundary. Bangalore in need for some momentum.

RCB 60/1 after 10 overs: Kohli Dropped! Anrich Nortje drops Kohli off the bowling of Axar Patel and how costly that would be. Meanwhile, another tight over from Axar.

RCB 56/1 after 9 overs: Time-out! Top stuff from Ashwin as he toes down both Padikkal and Kohli giving just singles and Delhi has done an excellent job to not allow RCB tee off. Ashwin finishes with a slingy round-arm delivery.

RCB 52/1 after 8 overs: The 50 is up for RCB and both Padikkal and Kohli are looking in fine touch. Axar Patel into the attack and he gives six singles.

RCB 46/1 after 7 overs: Padikkal is in such fine form as he cuts Ashwin through the backward point region for a boundary. Ashwin created a caught and bowled chance but the ball just fell short of him.

RCB 40/1 after 6 overs: That's the end of the Powerplay and RCB would take that. Kohli announces his arrival with a sweet cover drive and then Padikkal works with the pace of Anrich Nortje through deep point for another boundary.

RCB 31/1 after 5 overs: Rabada into the attack and he strikes straightaway with the wicket of Philippe, who sliced high in the air and Prithvi Shaw takes the catch. Meanwhile, Padikkal fetches a boundary and is looking in sublime touch.

RCB 25/0 after 4 overs: Padikkal says enough as he gets going with a lofted drive over extra cover for a boundary and then pockets three runs to get Bangalore up and running.

RCB 16/0 after 3 overs: Just a boundary so far and it's been some start from the Delhi bowling unit. They got Daniel Sams in and he is doing a decent job.

RCB 10/2 after 2 overs: Spin straightaway with a left-hander at play and the experienced R Ashwin starts well.

RCB 4/0 after 1 over: Good start from Daniel Sams as just four runs comes from the opening over. Both Philipppe and Padikkal are off the mark.

Right then, the umpires are out there in the middle and the Delhi unit in the huddle and they need to bowl well. It will be Josh Philippe along with Devdutt Padikkal who will open for RCB and it will be Daneil Sams operating with the new ball.

A blockbuster on the cards and the winner will become the second team after Mumbai Indians to book a playoff berth. The loser, will have to sweat over the result between Sunrisers and Mumbai. We are moments away from Live action.

IPL 2020 Form guide: (last 5 matches | win:loss)

DC - The Capitals has found itself in a spot of bother after winning just one win in its last five game and heads into its deciding fixture with four straight losses. (1:4)

RCB - Bangalore's play-offs bid took a heavy toll after it won just two of its last five games and heads into the encounter on the back of three straight losses. (2:3)

For early leaders  Delhi Capitals  (DC) and  Royal Challengers Bangalore  (RCB), the business end of the round-robin stage was to be used to smoothen a few rough edges. Instead, the two go into Monday’s match in Abu Dhabi with their very survival in question.

The Preview

The winner will rise to 16 points and be guaranteed a top-two finish, which ensures two chances to get to the final. The loser can still progress to the playoffs, but needs to avoid a heavy defeat so that the net run rate doesn’t fall below that of fourth-placed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
