Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 after experiencing an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7 in Dubai. He had played only one of the seven matches.

The doctor has advised wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to rest for a week before he can get back onto the field. Pant, who picked up an injury during his last match against Rajasthan Royals, missed the game against Mumbai Indians with Australia's Alex Carey donning the gloves in his place.
