Manish Pandey helped Kolkata Knight Riders chase down 169 against Delhi Daredevils with an unbeaten fifty.

Kolkata Knight Riders’s batting line-up has looked solid so far. Once its openers, without any help, chased down 184. Twice the openers have put on 50-plus stands. When the openers faltered in KKR’s previous game, Robin Uthappa, at No. 3, steered the team to a match-winning total. In its second game against Mumbai Indians, coming in at 67 for three while batting first, Manish Pandey scored an unbeaten 81 to help his team finish at 178. But he finished on the losing side. On Monday, Pandey (69 off 49) arrived at a similar situation against Delhi Daredevils. Only the pressure was higher -- it was a chase of 169 -- and the score fewer -- 21 for three. But Pandey was unflustered. When Zaheer Khan denied him width; he defended. The soaring required rate in the middle overs didn’t disrupt his calm. Once set, he came down the track and hoisted sixes off Amit Mishra and Angelo Mathews. His 110-run fourth-wicket stand with Yusuf Pathan won the match for KKR.
