The focus will be on Gautam Gambhir and Ben Stokes when the Indian Premier League (IPL) fixture between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils gets underway at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Wednesday.
While Gambhir slammed a half-century in the previous outing, Stokes—playing for a new franchise this time—did not quite click in the away game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. So, when Jaipur hosts an IPL encounter after four years, the England all-rounder will be hoping to bounce back.
In the last edition of the IPL, Stokes—playing for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant—was one of the most successful players of the league. And in the absence of big-hitters like Steven Smith, Stokes will have to set the stage on fire.
Gambhir, on his part, will be hoping to lead from the front and ensure that Delhi Daredevils returns to winning ways.
