Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise announced on Tuesday.

Indian and Australian orthopaedic specialists have advised that Stanlake should not play the remaining part of the tournament owing to an injury that he sustained in the match against Chennai Super Kings played at Hyderabad on Sunday.

“Stanlake sustained a displaced fracture on his right hand fifth finger whilst fielding and surgical reduction and fixation was required to restore function to that finger,” the franchise stated in a media release.

The Australian fast bowler has flown back home for further treatment.
