Before the start of IPL 2018, few names were expected to set the stage on fire, but the season so far been an average one for them. Kings XI Punjab's Lokesh Rahul and Jaydev Unadkat of Rajasthan Royals are yet to play to their full potential, with the tournament now entering the second phase.
Rahul, has had a decent outing while opening for KXIP along with the big-hitting Chris Gayle, who is in great touch and the Karnataka batsman playing second fiddle. From eight matches this season, Rahul has scored 292 runs at a strike rate of 164.97 and his highest score being 60.
On the other hand, for Unadkat, it is turning out to be a poor year at the IPL after being bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 11.5 crore. After eight matches, the Saurashtra pacer has bagged only seven wickets at an average of 38.57 and his best figures being 3-46. It looks difficult now for Unadkat to replicate the performance of last year, where he finished with 24 wickets from 12 matches at an average of 13.41.
With both players looking to make an impact, this head to head contest got the potential to be an interesting one.
