When Royal Challengers Bangalore meets Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, all eyes will be AB de Villers and Rashid Khan. Both players have been in terrific form in the season and have played vital roles in their team’s quest for victories.
On his day, there can be no one to stop de Villiers. He can take the attack to the cleaners in an instant and before one bats an eyelid, balls have to be fetched from one of the spectator tiers or from the parking lot.
The South African, known for his penchant for supremacy, would be keen to get the better of the opposition. A keen observer of the game and a good player against both pace and spin, it would be interesting to see how he tackles the teenager Rashid.
Rashid is known to bounce back quickly when he is dow in the dumps. The Afghan bowler has a good mix of googlies, slower balls, the wrong’uns and the tradition leg breaks. The way the teenager mixes his length with his choice of delivery makes it hard for the batsmen to read him.
When Rashid is up against a rampaging De Villiers, it would make for a cracker of a contest.
