When the Indian Premier League started, hardly anyone would have thought that the Mumbai Indians will find an unlikely hero in Nitish Rana. Rana has been consistently steering the Mumbai batting, especially at times when the experienced international players failed. Two half-centuries and Rana has proved – he is no one-time wonder.
For Kings XI Punjab, the season started off well, with its star player, captain Glenn Maxwell, guiding the side to back-to-back victories in Indore. However, ever since then, KXIP went on to lose all its away matches. But, in the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Manan Vohra almost guided the Kings to victory – scoring a 50-ball 95 (which included nine fours and five sixes).
When KXIP hosts MI in Indore on Thursday, a hurt Vohra – having missed the opportunity to score a century by five runs and a victory for his side — will look to erase the failure of the last match. On other hand, for Rana, it will be to carry on the good show and see his team off against a winless Kings XI.
On Thursday, it will be Rana’s coherence against Vohra’s grit.
