When the defending champion Sunrisers Hyderabad takes on Kings XI Punjab in Hyderabad on Monday, it will be a contest between SRH’s bowling ace Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kings XI’s captain Glenn Maxwell.
Even if on paper the game looks a bit tilted towards Sunrisers, with Maxwell around, things could well be different. Known for his stroke-play and indomitable attitude, Maxwell has the ability to change the course of a game on any given day. Despite having a mixed season so far, the Australian would be looking forward to set the stage on fire.
But then, it won’t be a walk in the park. At home, the Hyderabad outfit will once again be pinning hopes on the expertise of Bhuvneshwar, who has scalped 10 wickets so far. And, against the Kings XI, the medium pacer will once again have an opportunity to increase the tally. After a rather mixed international season, Bhuvneshwar seems to have found the old touch — something that has even got the cricket experts talking.
So, when the match gets underway in Hyderabad, it would ideally put an Indian bowler and an Australian power-hitter to test.
Game on…
