Supergiants getting ready for IPL debut

Rising Pune Supergiants will play its first IPL match against defending champion Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium on April 9.

Rising Pune Supergiants started practicing ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting on April 9. The team, lead by India's limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will make its debut in the IPL against defending champion Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium.

After leading the Chennai Super Kings for eight years, Dhoni will be sporting a different jersey in IPL's ninth edition.

“This year we have a very balanced side with the right combination of youth and experience which is essential for any team to succeed,” said Dhoni during the launch of the team’s jersey.

“We have got some big hitters and players who know to bind the innings together by putting on partnerships. Both batting and bowling unit looks good on paper but consistent performance will be the yardstick for judging the team,” he added.
