India will play its 500th Test in Kanpur against New Zealand from September 22, according to the schedule for New Zealand's tour of India released by the BCCI. Besides the landmark first Test of three in Kanpur, the other Tests will be held in Kolkata and Indore. For Indore it will be its first ever Test.
After the Tests, the action turns towards five One-Day Internationals, a series which culminates in Visakhapatnam on October 29.

India will be coming from a four-Test series in the Caribbean in July and August, before facing New Zealand at home. The team is currently enjoying a break following its limited overs’ tour of Zimbabwe earlier this month. Many of the first-choice players were not included for the Zimbabwe tour, given a respite after a busy Twenty20 (T20) season.
Virat Kohli and Co. will therefore be fresh from a couple of months of break before travelling to the Caribbean. It will, however, be a busy home schedule for the players thereafter, with the country hosting 13 Tests, eight ODIs and three T20s in the season.
