Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a field day in Kolkata on Wednesday. As the rain played spoilsport, cancelling India’s practice session, the erstwhile captain decided to play a game of football with his colleagues at the Eden Gardens.

Once that was done, Dhoni left the stadium in a hurry. While there were speculations that he was visiting his in-laws, ‘MSD’ surprised everyone by turning up at the Police Training School.

Dressed in team tee and shorts, the erstwhile India captain decided to hone his skills in shooting at the firing range in Kolkata.

Sources close to the cricketer confirmed that Dhoni had initially decided to visit the school on Tuesday, but the plan had to be dropped due to heavy rain. “Today, he was there for quite sometime. He keeps on visiting the place whenever he is in Kolkata,” a source said.

On personal front, it has been a good beginning to the series for Dhoni, and these off-field ‘refreshments’ could actually do him a piece of good ahead of the second ODI on Thursday.
