Moeen Ali is aware England must improve with the bat if it is to beat Pakistan in the first Test at Lord's.
Pakistan will take a lead of 281 into the fourth day, with two second-innings wickets still in hand, despite Chris Woakes taking his tally of wickets in the match to 11 with outstanding figures of 5-31.
England is therefore sure to require more than the 272 runs it managed in the first innings, when Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah claimed six wickets.
Moeen, who picked up the key wickets of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan on Saturday, said: "We didn't bat well in the first innings and we want to put that right.''
"It will be tough, they have a very good leg-spinner [Yasir] who will cause us trouble. We will have to play well to win this series and he will be the biggest threat.
"In the first innings we were caught in the crease a lot and didn't use our feet against him. In the next innings, we'll have to be good on our feet, whether back or forward, but the lack of bounce did us a little bit in the first innings.''
"We are just going to have to play well. We've all got runs in the past so we are going to have to use that experience and play well against him."
Discussing the impressive performance of team-mate Woakes, Moeen added: "I think he's always been a quality allrounder, but sometimes it's about confidence. He's bowled brilliantly in this game."
Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur believed his side held a slender advantage at stumps.
"I'd like to say we are just in front," said the South African.
"It's very close, almost too close to call. I think we are in for a cracking day's cricket tomorrow [Sunday].
"If we can sneak another 19-20 and get just over 300, it's going to be a very, very good Test match."
