Shah has asked the BCCI’s Acting Secretary, Amitabh Choudhary to reschedule the meeting giving notice of sufficient period to all members and including himself, so that all can prepare and contribute at the meeting.

The Chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Niranjan Shah, has not been sent notice for the NCA Board meeting at New Delhi on Friday and understandably the Rajkot-based veretan administrator is peeved. The NCA Board will consider a number of matters related to the land acquired at Bangalore, facilities to upgraded at the existing campus and vacancies to be filled up.

Shah has asked the BCCI’s Acting Secretary, Amitabh Choudhary to reschedule the meeting giving notice of sufficient period to all members and including himself, so that all can prepare and contribute at the meeting.

In a letter addressed to Choudhary, Shah has expressed “surprise” that the the NCA Board meeting has been called (on September 15) and that a notice has not been sent to him. “I am the Chairman of the NCA officially constituted by the BCCI. You will agree that as an acting secretary of the BCCI appointed by the Honourable Supreme Court, you should comply with procedural matter and the notice should have been sent to me.”

Shah has further said: “The omission and exclusion of anyone and / or undue haste in holding such meetings would show lack of transparency, fairness and equity, especially in matters that would have significant financial impact.”

Officials at the Saurashtra Cricket Association believe that if Jyotiraditya Scindia can chair the BCCI’s Finance Committee meeting, Shah can chair the NCA Board. To which a BCCI official, referring to age cap set by the Lodha Committee. said: “Mr. Scindia is not 70 years old.”
