Eden Park witnessed a handful of Twenty20 cricket records being broken in a high-scoring encounter between New Zealand and Australia, which the latter won by five wickets . In the context of this Trans-Tasman T20 Tri-series, this was Australia's fourth consecutive win, having already sealed its place in the final, while New Zealand suffered its second loss and will now battle against England on Sunday for a spot in the final.

Here, Sportstar lists the T20 records broken and equalled by the Trans-Tasman rivals on an enthralling night...

488 - The second-highest aggregate runs in T20 international; West Indies and India were involved in a similarly high-scoring match in August 2016, in Florida, scoring a combined 489 runs.

245 - This is now the highest successful run-chase in T20 cricket (by Australia), surpassing the 232 that the West Indies successfully achieved against South Africa in January 2015.

32 - The joint-most number of sixes in a T20 match, equalling the record set by the West Indies and India from the same match aforementioned.

64 - The third-most number of runs conceded by a bowler in a T20 match; Andrew Tye and Ben Wheeler conceded this many runs in four and 3.1 overs respectively, joining James Anderson and Sanath Jayasuriya on the list.

2188 - Martin Guptill became the leading run-scorer in T20 international cricket, surpassing former New Zealand captain and team-mate, Brendon McCullum, who had been top of the pile with 2140 runs.
