Kragg Brathwaite made a defiant half-century, but Pakistan was closing in on a Test series victory against West Indies at stumps on day four in Abu Dhabi.

The Windies was set a highly unlikely 456 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Monday after Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq declared on 227-2, with the in-form Azhar Ali (79) the only man out and Asad Shafiq making an unbeaten 58.
Brathwaite, sent in to open with Leon Johnson, held Pakistan up by scoring 67 at the top of the order, but prolific spinner Yasir Shah took 2-60 to leave the tourists 171-4 at stumps.
Jermaine Blackwood was unbeaten on 41 at the close, and the Windies require an improbable 285 more to level the series but it will surely be only a matter of time before Pakistan take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Jason Holder set defensive fields in an attempt to dry up the boundaries after Pakistan resumed on 114-1 on a flat pitch, but that allowed Azhar and Shafiq easy singles with the field spread.
Azhar, a triple centurion in the first Test, scored just five boundaries in his 137-ball knock before he edged Miguel Cummins to captain Holder in the slips to leave Pakistan two down for 164.
Shafiq had his second half-century of the match when he cut Roston Chase for four after also dispatching a Holder delivery to the boundary with a glorious drive into the leg side.
Younis Khan chipped in with 29 not out after reaching three figures in the first innings as he and Shafiq put on 63 for the third wicket before Misbah declared at lunch.
Misbah turned to spin at both ends after only six overs and it was no surprise that Yasir got the breakthrough, bowling Johnson when the opener played on when attempting an aggressive sweep.
Darren Bravo gifted Rahat Ali (1-40) Pakistan's second wicket when he slashed a short and wide delivery to Mohammad Nawaz at point to fall for 13.
Brathwaite was enjoying himself, launching Zulfiqar Babar for six down the ground and playing in one-day mode before taking a more cautious approach.
Just the two wickets fell for 86 runs in the afternoon session, Marlon Samuels (23) out tamely when he offered a return catch to a grateful Yasir before Nawaz (1-14) pinned Brathwaite lbw.
Blackwood stated his intent by giving Yasir the charge to club him over mid-on to the boundary and he saw it through to the close after adding 47 in an unbroken stand with Chase (17no).
