Prithvi Shaw capped off a memorable debut series by hitting the winning runs to clinch India the two-Test series against the West Indies. He was named the man of the series for his tally of 237 runs, which included a century, a half-century and an unbeaten 33.

The 18-year-old came in as the replacement for Murali Vijay and lived up to the weight of expectations, having scored centuries on his Ranji Trophy debut and Duleep Trophy debut and earning the national call-up on the back of consistent performances for Mumbai and India A.

Speaking after winning the man-of-the-series award, an elated Shaw said, "It was a happy moment for me and finishing the game for India means a lot for me. It is my first series, winning 2-0 and winning the Man of the Series makes it all the more special."

The youngster said that he doesn't feel like he is the junior in the squad. "Everyone is like a family; there is no senior or junior. It is a great journey and I am looking forward to a lot of it."

Shaw also said that his immediate objective is continue trying to win matches for India.

"I don't know what is happening next, I just want to enjoy this moment and try to keep winning matches for India."
