Afghanistan all-rounder Rahmat Shah on Saturday became the country's first batsman to score a Test fifty when he hammered a James Cameron half-tracker wide of long-on for a boundary in the one-off Test against Ireland in Dehradun.

Last year in September, Rahmat's 90-ball 72 had helped Afghanistan knock out Sri Lanka from the Asia Cup in the UAE.

In 2017, Rahmat Shah (103 off 191) and Ihsanullah (124 off 242) broke the Afghanistan first-class record for the highest partnership for any wicket by adding 197 as the Asghar Afghan-led side beat UAE to lift its second Intercontinental Cup title.
