"I’d say the best guy I played with was Sachin, in terms of his quality and class," Dravid said.

In 2015, Australian fast-bowling legend Glenn McGrath said "If I had to choose among Lara, Sachin and Dravid to bat for my life, I would chose Rahul Dravid every time."

It shows how much the legendary batsman is respected among his peers and opponents. When the same question was posed to Dravid during an interview with ESPNcricinfo he picked his former India team-mate Sachin Tendulkar for the task of batting for his life.

"I’d say the best guy I played with was Sachin, in terms of his quality and class," Dravid said.

Having made 13288 Test runs by facing some of the fiercest bowlers in cricket history during his 16-year long career, Dravid also had two bowlers on his list he would have liked to face.

"Michael Holding and Jeff Thompson. May be for a few deliveries, not for too many and definitely not without a helmet," Dravid said.

When asked what was the funniest sledge he faced on the pitch, the former Indian captain picked the one by the Australian fielders when he walked out to join V.V.S. Laxman at the crease while following on in famous Kolkata Test victory in 2001.

“When I walked in at Kolkata, I was reminded that I’d been batting at No. 3 in the first Test, and by the time we reached the third innings in Kolkata I was No. 6,” he recounted. “So I was told that by the end of the series I’d be No. 12, which I thought was really funny.”

Dravid is currently the coach of India A and India U-19.
