Highlights of round seven of the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 season.

Day 1: as it happened

At DRIEMS Ground, Cuttack: Odisha 215/3 at stumps on day one against Assam.

In Jammu: Harpreet Singh Bhatia scored a century as Chattisgarh reached 270/4 at stumps on Day 1 against J&K.

At Moin ul Haq Stadium, Patna: Bihar was all out for 208 and at stumps on day one, Meghalaya was 18/0.

At MBB Stadium, Agartala: After bowling Tripura out for 121, Maharashtra was 127/5 and a lead of six runs at stumps on day one.

At Ongole: After bundling out Kerala for 162, Andhra was 57/1 at stumps on day one.

At CCFC Ground, Kolkata: Mizoram was 8/0 in reply to Nagaland's 243 at the end of first day's play.

Services 232/8 (Pulkit Narang 38 off 67, Raushan Raj 38 off 88) vs Jharkhand at stumps on day one.

In Delhi: Railways 98/6 at stumps on day one (Arindam Ghosh 32 off 88, Avinash Yadav 29 off 92) vs Karnataka.

Stumps: Saurashtra 114/6 (Chirag Jani 17 off 50, A V Vasavada 17 off 52) after Jaydev Unadkat's six-wicket haul skittled Baroda for 154.

Gujarat 88/1 (B H Merai 29 off 44, Parthiv Patel 31 off 99), in reply to Vidarbha's 142 at stumps on Day 1.

Stumps: Goa dominated the proceedings and ended day one on 376/2 in 89.6 overs (Amit Verma 14 off 20, S K Patel 32 off 42) vs Arunachal Pradesh.

MP vs UP: In reply to Madhya Pradesh's 230, Uttar Pradesh was 22/3 in 7.6 overs  (Aksh Deep Nath 6 off 7, Almas Shaukat 2 off 22) at stumps on Day 1. More importantly, Ravi Yadav took the three wickets of successive deliveries.

At the end of first day's play: Rajasthan 2/0 in 3.6 overs (M N Singh 0 off 12, Y B Kothari 2 off 12) in reply to Hyderabad's 171.

It's stumps in Dharamsala. Sarfaraz Khan remains not out on 226 as Mumbai ends the day at 372-5 against Himachal Pradesh.

It's stumps. Haryana ends the day at 50/5 in 20.6 overs. R P Sharma 21 off 33 balls, while S P Kumar 14 off 14.

 

V.V. Subrahmanyam updates: Hyderabad all out for 171 versus Rajasthan in the 81st over.

Madhya Pradesh vs Uttar Pradesh: MP innings ends for 230 in 72.6 overs. Gourav Yadav 22 off 21, Ravi Yadav 7 off 12.

It's stumps in Kolkata. Bengal ends the day at 286-5 in 87 overs against Delhi, with Anustup Majumdar remaining unbeaten on 94 and Shahbaz on 39.

Amol Karhadkar pings from Dharamsala: An unbeaten triple followed by an unbeaten run-a-ball double. Could Sarfaraz have asked for a better comeback season with Mumbai? He took guard when Mumbai were tottering at 16/3 and virtually single-handedly has taken the game away from Himachal Pradesh.

Baroda vs Saurashtra in Vadodara: Things have changed suddenly. Saurashtra has lost three quick wickets and is now reeling at 70-5.

Baroda v Saurashtra in Vadodara: Saurashtra has made a strong start in response to Baroda's 154. It is 55 for one with opening batsman Harvik Desai having gotten off to a start and batting on 25. Avi Barot is the batsman dismissed, out for 26 off the bowling of A. Sheth. Snell Patel has joined Desai with Saurashtra looking to finish the day strongly.

Bengal v Delhi at Eden Gardens: An update from our reporter at the venue, Y. B. Sarangi: Goswami (59) hits a skier and is caught by Simarjeet at midoff. Vikas has his third wicket. Bengal 217/5, fifth wicket stand 117 runs.

Himachal v Mumbai in Dharamsala: Our reporter at the HPCA Stadium, Amol Karhadkar updates: Sarfaraz (132 not out, 156b, 20x4) has held the innings together but had Shubham Ranjane (29 not out, 42b, 6x4) not been lucky on 17 despite a clear bat-pad caught behind appeal, Mumbai would have been in trouble. At tea, 260/5 .

Hyderabad v Rajasthan: Our reporter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, V. V. Subrahmanyam updates: Hyderabad putting up some fight finally thanks to a defiant seventh wicket stand between K Sumanth (42) and Chama Milind (21) as goes into tea break at 126 for 6.

Bengal v Delhi at Eden Gardens: Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman Shreevats Goswami gets to his fifty, he's had to work for it! Anustup Majumder is batting on 63 and the pair has added 106 runs for the fifth wicket so far. Bengal 206 for four.

Andhra v Kerala in Ongole: Job done! Andhra's Shoaib Md Khan finishes with a five-for and Kerala's been bowled out for 162 in 49.5 overs. Basil Thampi, batting at No. 8, top-scored with 42.

Bengal v Delhi at Eden Gardens: Anustup Majumder hits a four off Nitish Rana to get to his half-century. At tea on day one, Bengal 191/4, Anustup 55 not out, Shreevats Goswami 47 not out.

Andhra v Kerala in Ongole: Basil Thampi and M. D. Nidheesh have forged a 24-run partnership for the ninth wicket, taking Kerala to 155 for eight. Thampi is batting on 36 and is already the top-scorer for Kerala.

Gujarat v Vidarbha in Surat: Defending champion Vidarbha is crumbling! Senior batsman Wasim Jaffer has just been dismissed by Gujarat seamer Chintan Gaja, Vidarbha 105 for seven! Akshay Wakhare and Lalit Yadav are the batsmen in the middle.

Himachal v Mumbai in Dharamsala: Our reporter at the HPCA Stadium, Amol Karhadkar updates: Sensational Sarfaraz has completed a second successive hundred, with a tap on the off-side off the left-arm spinner. 100 not out (102b, 16x4) as he and Tare have crossed the 100-run partnership for the 5th wkt. Mumbai 176/4. (Sarfaraz has had an excellent run since earning his Mumbai recall last month. Of the five hundreds Mumbai has scored this season, Sarfaraz has notched up two. Sandeep's (38) freak run-out as he backed up too far to a straight drive from B. Siddharth Desai has been the wrecker-in-chief and has figures of 8-1-23-3, while Roosh Kalaria and Nagwaswalla have taken a wicket apiece.

For HP, Vaibhav Arora's twin inswingers have been the highlight so far.

UP captain Ankit Rajpoot, Yash Dayal and Mohsin Khan have taken a wicket apiece, while Saurabh Kumar ran out Rohera.
