The Tamil Nadu cricket team, on Wednesday, left for Rajkot where it will take on Mumbai in a semifinal match of the Ranji Trophy from January 1, 2017.

K.S. Viswanathan secretary, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), said to Sportstar, “The team is confident. The morale in the side is high.”

The Tamil Nadu team for the semifinal features the same players who travelled to Visakhapatnam for the quarterfinal against Karnataka, including opener Ganga Sridhar Raju who replaced the injured M. Vijay in the squad.

Meanwhile, the TNCA secretary said there were no injury updates from R. Ashwin and Vijay, who missed the last eight clash citing fitness concerns.

“If Vijay and Ashwin tell us that they have recovered and are available for the match, they will be considered,” said Viswanathan.
