Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan became the quickest to bag 100 ODI wickets, after he dismissed Shai Hope in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier final against West Indies, in Harare on Sunday.
By achieving the feat in 44 games, the 19-year-old broke Aussie quick Mitchell Starc’s record (52 games).
Khan started the game on 99 wickets. He reached the milestone — trapping Hope on his pads — in the last ball of his third over. He finished 1/42.
Earlier in the week, Khan was instrumental in granting Afghanistan a place at the ICC World Cup 2019. The Afghans thrashed Ireland by five wickets with Khan finishing 3/40.
