Pakistan may have slumped to a heavy defeat against England at Headingley but Sarfraz Ahmed was proud of the way his young side played in the two-match series.

England were expected to dominate the Test clashes with Pakistan but the tourists shone at Lord's to take a 1-0 lead, Sarfraz's men winning by nine wickets.

They could not repeat the feat in Leeds, though, as England secured a 1-1 draw with a comprehensive victory by an innings and 55 runs on Sunday.

However, Sarfraz was not too despondent and believes his side will grow from the experience.

"We were not as disciplined as at Lord's, our batting wasn't up to the mark," he told Sky Sports in the post-match presentation.

"We were down by 180, with pressure on the batting side, but … we didn't capitalise.

"We have a young side, we learned a lot and will improve. The way we came back at Malahide [against Ireland] and Lord's, I'm proud of my team."
