India’s former opener Virender Sehwag will host a television show featuring Olympic aspirants - ‘Umeed India’ - on the channel ‘Epic TV’ from July 20.

Sehwag has interviewed 13 sportspersons, many of them preparing for the 2020 Olympic Games.

“Cricketers do not struggle. I found facilities in every corner of Delhi, it’s not the same with other sportspersons. They have to manage with Rs. 600 for their daily diet. I hope the 13-episode will open the eyes of everyone to assist these sportspersons,” said Sehwag.

Rejected by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for the post of head coach of the Indian team, Sehwag has interacted with freestyle wrestler and Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik, paralympian swimmer Suyash Yadav, shot-put athlete Om Prakash Karhana, sprinter Dutee Chand, judoka Avtar Singh, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, and rower Dattu Bhokanal.
