SL v Australia: Mathews ruled out of final ODI

Owing to the calf injury he sustained in the fourth One-Day International against Australia, Sri Lanka's captain Angelo Mathews will miss the final match of the series.

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews will miss the rest of his matches against Australia after sustaining a calf injury, with the final One-Day International of the series set to be played at Pallekele on Sunday.

Batsman Upul Tharanga has been recalled to the squad for the match, while Niroshan Dickwella and Dasun Shanaka have also been added as Sri Lanka seeks to restore some pride after >losing the series .

Thisara Perera and Lakshan Sandakan have been released from the squad for the last ODI, with a pair of Twenty20 internationals to come on September 6 and 9.

Mathews posted an injury update on his Twitter account, insisting he will play again "soon" and that he is targeting Sri Lanka's upcoming tour of Zimbabwe to make his comeback. "Quick thumbs up to all who wanted to know my status," the skipper wrote. "Will be back on the field soon. Will keep you posted."
