Spinner Ish Sodhi has been recalled by New Zealand for the third and final Chappell-Hadlee One-Day International (ODI) against Australia in Hamilton. Sodhi, 24, comes into the squad in place of wicketkeeper Tom Blundell, while the Black Caps announced that opener Martin Guptill's availability remains uncertain for Sunday's clash at Seddon Park.

Without an ODI appearance since October last year, Sodhi - who stole the headlines with 6 for 11 for Brisbane Strikers in the Big Bash League last month - returns to the fold, with New Zealand leading 1-0 after the second game > was washed out due to poor drainage in Napier.

"History shows that the Seddon Park pitch can be spin friendly and for that reason Ish has been brought into the squad," selection Gavin Larsen said. "We wanted the option of two specialist spinners for this match and it's a venue that Ish has had some success in at in the past. Mike and Kane will now get the opportunity to assess the pitch over the next couple of days and make a decision from there as to who will be in the playing eleven."

As for Guptill, who was already ruled out of the second ODI before it was abandoned due to a hamstring injury, Larsen added: "Martin has made progress in the last couple of days, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for selection. At this stage it's probably 50-50."
