Gujarat vs Bengal

Bengal beats Gujarat by seven wickets. Wriddhiman Saha (53 off 46 balls) and Vivek Singh (28 off 29 balls) stitch together a 57-run stand, off 54 balls, to help Bengal beat Gujarat in the last Super League match.

The India wicket-keeper batsman, Wriddhiman Saha, gets to his 50. He has got to the landmark in 43 balls with 5 fours and 1 six.

Wriddhiman Saha (49*) and Vivek Singh (20*) have added 45 runs in 40 balls as Bengal gallops towards the finish line. It is 113/3 in 16 overs, needing just 9 to win this last Syed Mushtaq Ali Super League match.

Wriddhiman Saha moves to 47 off 34 balls and Bengal reaches 94/3 in 13 overs, needing 28 runs in 42 balls to win. Saha has struck 5 fours and 1 six.

At the end of 10 overs, Bengal is 70/3, needing 52 more runs in 60 balls.

Axar Patel strikes. He castles Manoj Tiwary for 18 (18 balls, 1 four, 1 six) and Bengal is 68/3 in 9.3 overs, chasing 122.

Wriddhiman Saha and Manoj Tiwary have added 30 runs in 27 balls as Bengal moves to 58/2, needing 64 more runs in more than 11 overs.

At the end of the powerplay, Bengal is 46/2. Gujarat, at the same stage was 46/3. Saha on 17 (13 balls) and Tiwary on 6 (6 balls) are in the middle. Bengal needs 76 runs in 84 balls to win.

Two veteran batsmen in the middle — Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha. The duo needs to carefully weather the storm and knock off most of the runs needed.

Twin strike from Jayveer Parmar. After castling Goswami, he takes a neat return catch offered by Abhimanyu Easwaran and the Bengal batsman is on his way for no score. Bengal is 28/2, needing 94 more runs.

Shreevats Goswami has been the aggressor. He has smacked Arzan Nagwaswalla for two boundaries in one over and has moved to 21 off just 13 balls, with four boundaries. Bengal is 26/0 in 3 overs, needs 96 more to win in 17 overs.

Axar Patel and Hemang Patel are going strong as Gujarat reaches the 100-run mark. At the end of 17 overs, it is 101/7.

The partnership is blossoming. The duo have added 27 off 24 balls (Hemang 4 off 11, Axar 31 off 29) as Gujarat is 81/7 in 14 overs.

Manish Pandey has played a captain's knock. He has anchored this chase with an unbeaten 45 off 33 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Karnataka 136/4 in 19 overs, needing 3 runs to win the match and progress to the final.

INNINGS BREAK: The Karnataka bowlers, propped up by some sharp fielding, reduced Vidarbha to 50 for 5 before the latter fought back through a 66-run partnership between Karnewar and Wankhade.

The duo tried to inject some life into the otherwise sedate innings with a string of big hits. Wankhade in particular upped the ante in the death overs, bringing up his half-century with a maximum. Vidarbha finished on 138/7; Karnataka needs 139 to win.

Mumbai trounces Uttar Pradesh by 46 runs to keep its final hopes alive. Siddhesh Lad, Karnekar and Shreyas Iyer starred with the bat while Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dubey and Lad took three wickets apiece to scythe through the Uttar Pradesh line-up.

The Karnataka - Vidarbha match assumes importance for the 41-time Ranji Champion as a Karnataka win will see it bow out of the tournament whereas victory for Vidarbha will bring the NRR into play.

12.01 pm: Saurabh Kumar and Ankit Chaudhary hit the odd boundaries and sixes but with the asking rate climbing over 16, Kumar perished trying to clear the fence. Uttar Pradesh 102/7 in 15 overs.

11.36 am: Rinku Singh and Priyam Garg added 36 for the fifth wicket before Garg was caught off Dubey's bowling. Rinku then played on to leave Uttar Pradesh reeling at 61/6 in 10 overs.

11.18 am: Shubham Chaubey is cleaned up for a six-ball duck as Uttar Pradesh loses its fourth for 24 on the board. Shivam Dubey pitched one on the middle and got it to move away ever so slightly as Chaubey was caught rooted to the crease. Uttar Pradesh 31/4 in 6 overs.

11.08 am: Thakur is in the middle of a fiery opening spell in Indore. He gets his third wicket in the form of Kaushik, who is caught behind to leave Uttar Pradesh reeling at 20/3 in 4 overs.

WICKETS! A pacy yorker from Shardul Thakur goes through Samarth Singh's defence before he has Aryan Juyal edging an outgoing delivery straight to slips. Uttar Pradesh 9/2 in 2 overs.

INNINGS BREAK: After losing Jay Bista off the first ball, Mumbai recovered well through a 96-run stand between Karnekar and Lad before cameos from captain Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube propelled it to the highest total in the Super League stage, 183/7. It was buoyed by some pretty ordinary fielding from Railways in the death overs. Uttar Pradesh needs 184 to win.

Lad hit one straight to Mohit Jangra and the ball brushed the bowler's fingers before hitting the stumps with the non-striker out of his crease. Lad, meanwhile, brought up his fifty and has been joined by skipper Shreyas Iyer. Mumbai 102/2 in 13 overs.

 

9.42 am: Lad and Kerkar have added 68 for the second wicket with the former stepping foot on the pedal. Lad began by giving Saurabh Kumar the charge, got to the pitch of the ball and launched it over long on for six before hammering another one over long-off in the ninth over. The duo has set a strong platform for Mumbai. Mumbai 68/1 in 10 overs.

 

9.27 am: Kerkar has hit three boundaries to take Mumbai to 34/1 at the end of the Powerplay . A backfoot punch through point stood out. He is batting on 26 off 21 balls.

 

9.13 am: Kerkar punches one off the back foot through point for four as Mumbai reaches 18/1 in 3 overs. He has Siddhesh Lad for company.

WICKET! A golden duck for Bista as he drives Rajpoot straight to Rinku Singh at backward point! Bista didn't get to the pitch of the ball and ended up mistiming the drive. Mumbai 0/1 in 0.1 overs.
