After 15 overs, TN 128/0 (beats Assam by 10 wickets)
Jagadeesan (78, 50b; 8x4, 3x6) and Nishanth (47, 40b, 5x4, 1x6) made a mockery of Assam bowlers as they chased down 127 inside 15 overs to win the game by 10 wickets. Nishanth will be disappointed to have missed out on a second consecutive fifty but the brisk scoring will help TN in the net run rate. None of the Assam bowlers had the spark to run through the TN batters.
FIFTY for Jagadeesan ; 39 balls, 7x4, 1x6)
After 10 overs, TN 83/0: Jagadeesan (43 off 32) and Nishanth (38 off 30) ran well, found the boundaries and pushed TN close to victory with the blink of an eye. Assam bowled 27 dots in its first 66 balls but TN mostly dealt with boundaries. Jagadeesan smashed seven boundaries, while Nishanth hit five fours and a six.
So far, Silchar boy Rahul Singh has been the most economical bowler. The left-arm spinner, who had returned figures of 1/21 against Jharkhand, stood at 3-0-18-0.

TN off to a flier!
After 5 overs, TN 46/0: TN opener C Hari Nishanth, who smashed an unbeaten 92 against Jharkhand, continued the fine form to launch an attack on Arup Das. The left-hander hit two boundaries and a six to unsettle the opponent.
N. Jagadeesan, who has been part of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, found momentum in Pritam Das’ over. He smashed 16 runs which included four boundaries.
The electric start will also help TN maintain a healthy net run rate.

After 20 overs, Assam 126/7: Rajjakuddin Ahmed was perhaps batting on a different pitch. The 25-year-old from Tezpur, who strikes the ball at 147, changed gears at the right moment. He smashed four fours and a six before falling to Mohammed for a well-made 29 off 15.
There is a reason why IPL experience is crucial for domestic players. Parag, who spent two seasons with Rajasthan Royals, cut loose in the final over to hit an important six. But eventually, Yadav had the last laugh by dismissing him in the fourth ball.
Parag was dismissed for 24 off 26.
After 15 overs, Assam 73/5: There has been no intent from the Assam batsmen. Whenever they have tried to break free, they have found the fielders. Sai Kishore and Ashwin picked up four wickets between overs 10 to 15. As of now, the projected score is 95 which should be a cakewalk for TN to chase it down.
Sai Kishore was the pick of the bowlers with 15 dots and two wickets for 17 runs. M Ashwin (2/10) kept the other end tight.

After 10 overs, Assam 48/1: A disciplined effort by TN bowlers as they bowled 32 dots in the first 10 overs. Skipper Dinesh Karthik introduced left-arm spinner R. Sai Kishore and wrist spinner Murugan Ashwin from the eighth over to keep the Assam batsmen quiet.
Though Denish Das hit the first six of the game, the spinners caught the Assam batters by their neck. They couldn’t find a boundary from overs six to 10.

DID YOU KNOW? Lanky left-arm spinner Sai Kishore was instrumental in Tamil Nadu’s run to the final in the 2019-20 edition. The 24-year-old picked up 20 wickets from 12 matches to become the leading wicket-taker of the tournament and soon earned himself an IPL contract with Chennai Super Kings.
After 5 overs, Assam 30/1: TN made early inroads by dismissing the expressive Pallav Das inside the PowerPllay. Assam had a tough time trying to gauge the length of Sandeep Warrier in the first over. The right-arm pacer, who has been an IPL campaigner besides India A, had two slips in place and he kept bowling to his field trying to attack the fourth stump line.
Assam batsmen Rishav Das and Pallav started cautiously before the latter started finding the gaps. Left-hander Pallav smashed three boundaries off the pacers, Warrier and R. Sonu Yadav.
Rishav and Pallav seemed a bit uncomfortable against pace. The TN bowlers hit the right lengths with the ball skidding in and keeping a tad low.
Assam’s first boundary came in 1.3 overs.

An all-round performance from Bengal, highlighted by Vivek Singh's 64-ball 100, sees them beat Jharkhand by 16 runs. Virat Singh's 35-ball 47 and Utkarsh Singh's 14-ball 28 raised hopes of a Jharkhand comeback but a disciplined bowling effort from Bengal kept the visitor at bay. Ishan Porel finished with figures of three for 34. Jharkhand finished on 145/9. In other news, Siddarth Kaul took a hat-trick in Punjab's nine-wicket win over defending champion Karnataka.
Jharkhand 104/5 after 15 Overs: Jharkhand's run chase is starting to run out of steam with Virat Singh - the only batsman to cross 30 in this innings so far - falling to Writtick Bijoy Chatterjee for 47. It is not easy batting out there but someone needs to go in and get a move on if Jharkhand are to entertain hopes of a rearguard action at the Eden Gardens. At the moment, Bengal hold all the aces. Writtick Chatterjee: 2 for 25 from 4 Overs. Jharkhand need 58 to win in 30 deliveries. Utkarsh Singh and Anukul Roy are at the crease.
Jharkhand 60/2 after 10 Overs : Ishan Kishan and Virat Singh steadied Jharkhand after the early loss of Anand Singh. But just when Ishan was looking to up the ante, he was caught by Vivek Singh off Arnab Nandi's bowling. Nandi has been brilliant with the ball so far: 3 overs, 19 runs and a wicket.
Jharkhand 33/1 after 5 Overs : Bengal got the early breakthrough when Akash Deep had Anand Singh caught for 10 in the third over. Jharkhand skipper Ishan Kishan has been joined by Virat Singh at the crease. Arnab Nandi has bowled two overs while Ishan Porel and Deep have got one each so far.

MID-INNINGS UPDATE : Vivek Singh led Bengal's batting charge with an unbeaten 64-ball 100. The southpaw put on an exhibition of power-hitting, striking 13 fours and three sixes during his innings. However, he had little help from his teammates at the other end. Bengal finished on 161 for 6. For Jharkhand, Monu Singh was the standout performer with figures of three for 30. Jharkhand need 162 to win.
Bengal 115/3 after 15 overs: Bengal loses skipper Anustup Majumdar and veteran Manoj Tiwary in quick succession. Meanwhile, Vivek Singh has completed his half-century is batting on 65 off 45 deliveries with eight boundaries and two sixes. Bengal's 100 is up and with five overs to go and a set Vivek in the middle, it will hope for a late surge.
Bengal 64/1 after 10 overs: Utkarsh Singh strikes as Shreevats Goswami departs for a 28-ball 27. Bengal loses its first wicket. Vivek Singh and Anustup Majumdar join forces. Despite losing a wicket, Bengal has made up for the slow start.
Bengal 29/0 after 5 overs: Vivek Singh and Shreevats Goswami give Bengal a sedate start with the former playing the role of an aggressor. Vivek has blazed away as he is batting on 24 off 19 balls while Goswami is off to a slow start, batting on 5 from 11 deliveries.
