THE RESULT: A thrilling contest to end day 1 of the tournament. After a poor start to its innings after losing three quick wickets, Assam found itself in a spot of bother at the half-way mark before Riyan Parag combined with youngster Saahil Jain to revive the innings. Saahil launched the assault on the Hyderabad bowlers while Parag anchored the innings till the end. A stellar cameo from Rajjakuddin Ahmed down the order provided Assam the finish it was searching for, finishing at 159/5 in 20 overs.
Hyderabad's cautious start on an excellent surface did it no good as the Assam bowlers kept the runs under check throughout. Ravi Teja's crucial cameo of 24 from 11 balls nearly had Hyderabad back in the game. With 13 required off the final over, Teja fell in his bid to close the innings and Assam held its nerves to complete a brilliant comeback win by two runs.

They have held their nerve. Pritam Das finds two yorkers at the end as Hyderabad's Thyagarajan fails to connect. Agonising end for Hyderabad after taking it this close.

Hyderabad 147/7 after 19 overs: Dear, oh dear! Ravi Teja has completely turned this around with an 18-run over! Arup Das is smoked for four boundaries by Teja. 13 needed off the final over!
Hyderabad 131/7 after 18 overs: An eventful over with a see-saw battle going on! Pritam Das cleaned up a well-set Rahul Buddhi (21 off16) of the first ball. Teja retains the strike to thump a cracking six and cheekily scoops the next ball for a boundary. Das, however, returns to pick Yudhvir Singh who gifts his wicket away. A tight finish on the cards!
Hyderabad 119/5 after 17 overs: A hint of intent from Teja as he smashes Arup Das comfortably over long-on. Sweet connection on that one. Hyderabad will hope that Teja is the man for the job.
Hyderabad 100/5 after 15 overs: The match is slipping away from Hyderabad here. Himalay Agarwal who looked set to take the game deeper has fallen to Riyan Parag who can do no wrong tonight. An interesting finish is on the cards with Hyderabad requiring 60 of the final five. Buddhi Rahul and Ravi Teja will have to play it smart if Hyderabad are to get over the line tonight.
Hyderabad 87/4 after 13 overs: Hyderabad is losing its way through this chase. Bavanaka Sandeep tries to attack with a reverse sweep but a spectacular running grab from Denish Das at deep cover has cut short Sandeep's sluggish knock. Amlanjyoti gets his scalp of the night. Hyderabad 68/3 after 10 overs: A slow start has finally caught up to hurt Hyderabad in this chase. After the loss of captain Agarwal and Sumanth Kolla who looked in fine touch, Tilak Verma loses his wicket. The left-hander was under pressure to switch gears and Rahul Singh lured him to go for the big shot. Verma tries to clear the long-off boundary but finds Pritam Das who takes a comfortable catch. Hyderabad 54/2 after 8 overs: A good piece of fielding from Assam's Amlanjyoti Das has dismissed Sumanth Kolla. Kolla, looking for a second run, fell short after Das's inch-perfect throw met Thakuri behind the stumps. The runs have trickled down for Hyderabad. Sumanth runout 17(13)
Hyderabad 40/1 after 6 overs: It has been a rather conservative approach from Hyderabad with minimum risks taken so far. However, they have lost their skipper Agarwal who played a run-a-ball before losing his concentration. Spinner Amlanjyoti Das made the breakthrough for Assam in the fifth over.
Hyderabad 15/0 after 2 overs: A cautious start from the Hyderabad openers. Surely they would not want a start like Assam in what could just turn out to be a tricky run-chase.

Assam 159/5 after 20 overs: This has been a remarkable turnaround for Assam! Riyan Parag anchored the recovery while Hyderabad had to deal with an unexpected assault from Assam's middle-order duo of Saahil Jain (31 off 21) and Rajjakuddin Ahmed (31 off 15) who launched Hyderabad's best bowler tonight, Kartikeya Kak for 24 runs in the 18th over. Milind's excellent final over has managed to keep Assam within 160.
Parag and Saahil held a partnership of 54(40) while Rajjakuddin's stellar cameo resulted in a partnership of 48 runs from 23 balls to provide Assam a respectable finish at 159/5.
Assam 104/4 after 15 overs: It has been a wonderful surprise to see the young Saahil Jain dominating this partnership involving Riyan Parag. The Rajasthan Royals star has been more than welcoming to let Saahil launch the biggies. 52* run partnership between the pair -Parag 34* (30), Saahil 31*(19)
Assam 99/4 after 14 overs: The youngster Saahil has come out with a positive intent to play the big shots. He launched a cracking six to long-on off Ravi Teja and smashed another boundary straight down the ground. Parag and Saahil have particularly been excellent between the wickets and have combined perfectly to convert the ones into twos.
Assam 84/4 after 13 overs: Parag has found a perfect partner at the other end in Saahil Jain who smashes a six and two boundaries off Chama Milind to shift gears.
Assam 57/4 after 10 overs: Not a single boundary in the last four overs as Parag and Denish Das struggled to get the runs ticking after losing thee early wickets. And just on the stroke of reaching the half-way mark, Denish has been dismissed for 14(23) by Bavanaka Sandeep. Parag is finding his feet and Assam's hopes are entirely pinned on him.
Assam 33/3 after 5 overs: It has been a tough start for the Assam batsmen. They lost their skipper Rishav Das and fellow opener Pallav Das within the third over. Nothing but poor shots to blame on a pitch where the ball is coming on nicely. Abhishek Thakuri soon followed the openers back to the pavilion after playing a loose shot. Hyderabad's Kartikeya Kak took two wickets while Yudhvir Singh picked another. The onus will be on Riyan Parag and Denish Das to resurrect the innings.

RESULT : Hari Nishaanth's unbeaten 64-ball 92 powers Tamil Nadu to a comprehensive 66-run win against Jharkhand. Needing 190 to win, Jharkhand's chase never got going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They finished on 123/7. Sandeep Warrier and Sonu Yadav picked five wickets between them. All-rounder Vijay Shankar limped off the field with what seemed like a hip injury. There has been no official update from the TN camp.
Jharkhand 80/6 after 15 Overs : Jharkhand's out-of-steam batting order is coming undone in the middle overs. Sandeep Warrier, Murugan Ashwin and Sonu Yadav have made inroads into Jharkhand's lower middle-order with the asking rate mounting.
Jharkhand 66/3 after 10 Overs: Sandeep Warrier continues to impress with the ball. He picked up his second wicket after Kumar Deobrat was caught by M Ashwin. Warrier's figures in the Powerplay: 3-0-22-2 . Saurabh Tiwary has joined Virat Singh in the middle. Jharkhand have a tall task in front of them. Meanwhile, Vijay Shankar has limped off the field, clutching his left hip, at the start of his third over.
Jharkhand 38/0 after 5 Overs: Sandeep Warrier got Ishan Kishan caught behind for nine in the third over. Utkarsh Singh and Kumar Deobrat played some handsome looking shots before the former was caught off Sonu Yadav's bowling. The wicket's become placid as the game has progressed. Tamil Nadu have used three bowlers in the first five overs.

Tamil Nadu /4 after 20 Overs : Dinesh Karthik provided Tamil Nadu with a late thrust, slamming 25 runs off one Monu Singh over. Karthik was run out for a quickfire 46 off 17 deliveries. Meanwhile, Nishanth put on a flawless exhibition of power-hitting en route to an unbeaten 92 off 64 as Tamil Nadu racked up 189/5. Jharkhand needs 190 to win.
Tamil Nadu 120/2 after 15 Overs: Tamil Nadu have lost N Jagadeesan and Vijay Shankar in quick succession. But Nishanth has kept TN on course for a challenging score with a brisk fifty. He has his skipper Karthik for company. Jharkhand had reined in the scoring-rate briefly but Nishanth has struck a flurry of boundaries since then. Nishanth is batting on 74 off 49. Karthik is 10 off 7.
WICKET: What an unfortunate way to get out. Nishanth drove a Shahbaz Nadeem delivery down the pitch but Nadeem got a finger to the ball before it crashed into the stumps at the non-striker's end, catching Vijay Shankar short of his crease. Dinesh Karthik joins Nishanth.
Tamil Nadu 72/1 after 10 Overs: Rahul Shukla was introduced into the attack inside the Powerplay and was taken for runs immediately. H. Nishanth got stuck into him, collecting a six and a four off consecutive deliveries. Nishanth then turned his focus to Utkarsh, hammering him for a six over long-on. The southpaw got a reprieve on 38 when Ishan Kishan failed to latch on to a caught behind chance off Anand Singh's bowling. WICKET: Meanwhile, Jagadeesan holed out to a fine catch by Rahul off Anukul Roy's bowling. Vijay Shankar is at the crease.
Tamil Nadu 32/0 after 5 Overs: N Jagadeesan and Hari Nishanth are off to a cautious start at the Eden Gardens. Medium-pacer Monu Singh, right-arm off-spinner Utkarsh Singh and fast bowler Varun Aaron bowling inside the Powerplay. Nishaanth has hit a four and a six with Jagadeesan too chipping in with a boundary.
