T10 Cricket League: Players to watch out for

Ahead of the innovative and much anticipated T10 cricket league, Sportstar looks at the key men for all six teams in the competition.

Ahead of the innovative and much anticipated T10 cricket league, Sportstar looks at the key men for all six teams in the competition.

Maratha Arabians

Key players

Virender Sehwag: The only Indian player in the league, Sehwag has not played cricket since the Masters Champions League last year. However, in the fastest format, he will be leading the side.

Mohammed Amir : The left-arm quick from Pakistan has been one of the most sought after bowlers of the tournament. With Wasim Akram as the coach and mentor, Amir will be hoping to make every opportunity count.

Bengal Tigers

Key players

Sarfraz Ahmed: The Pakistan skipper’s fortunes changed after his side won the Champions Trophy earlier this year. He will be hoping to keep that reputation intact for the T10 League as well.

David Miller : The South African big-hitter came in as a replacement for Sunil Narine, and the onus would be on him to get the runs flowing.

Coach: Waqar Younis. Mentor: Shoaib Akhtar

Kerala Kings

Key players

Eoin Morgan: Long before Morgan heads to Australia to lead the England side for the limited-overs series, he will get a chance to sharpen his batting in the fastest format of the game.

Shakib Al Hasan : The most talked about all-rounder from Bangladesh, Shakib can change the colour of a game, and he would play a key role in the T10 format.

Coach: Robin Singh. Mentor: Brian Lara

Pakhtoons

Key players

Shahid Afridi : There is almost nothing Afridi can’t do on the field. The former Pakistan cricketer would be hoping to make the most of the opportunity.

Fakhar Zaman : The Pakistan youngster had a meteoric rise in the Champions Trophy; he would be hoping to keep the momentum going.

Punjabi Legends

Key players

Shoaib Malik: The erstwhile Pakistan captain will be hoping to add value to the Pakistan-based side.

Hasan Ali: He is the No.1 One-Day International bowler in the world and well accustomed to the conditions in Sharjah. That should help him.

Sri Lanka Cricket

Key player

Dinesh Chandimal: A team that has been made exclusively for Sri Lankan cricketers, Chandimal will be hoping to make his presence felt.
