A discussion on venues for the next two T20 World Cups, finalising election procedure for the next chairman and an update on the next year’s Women’s World Cup in New Zealand are on the agenda of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting on Friday.

The ICC, while postponing the T20 World Cup in Australia from October-November 2020 to 2022 last month, did not specify the venues for the 2021 and 2022 marquee events. While India has been allotted the 2021 World Cup, the confirmation is awaited based on acquiring requisite tax sops from the central government. It’s unlikely that a decision will be arrived on Friday.

The focus will also be on whether the ICC seals the fate of the Women’s ODI World Cup. Despite New Zealand being a Covid-19-free nation, it remains to be seen if the game's apex body and the host broadcaster prefer to save costs at the expense of the event. As for the ICC chairman election, the much-delayed election procedure is set to be finalised on Friday.
