Afghanistan plays India in its first Test match ever, but that was not the only significant event that played out at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
As Umesh Yadav rattled the stumps of Rahmat Shah, he entered the 100-wicket club. The pace-ace became the 22nd Indian bowler to claim 100 wickets in Test cricket.
The 30-year-old, who made his Test debut in 2011, took seven years and 36 matches to achieve the feat.
Afghanistan are reeling at 63/6 after India posted a mammoth total of 474 in the first innings.
