Warne’s Warriors make a clean sweep

Warne’s Warriors claimed a four-wicket win over Sachin’s Blasters in the third T20 match here at Dodger Stadium on Sunday to clinch the All-Stars three-match series 3-0. Opting to bat first, skipper Tendulkar and Mahela Jaywardene steadied the innings with thumping a 74—run partnership for second wicket following the dismissal of opener Virender Sehwag for 27 runs.

Warne’s Warriors claimed a four-wicket win over Sachin’s Blasters in the third T20 match here at Dodger Stadium on Sunday to clinch the All-Stars three-match series 3-0.

Opting to bat first, skipper Tendulkar and Mahela Jaywardene steadied the innings with thumping a 74—run partnership for second wicket following the dismissal of opener Virender Sehwag for 27 runs.

Sourav Ganguly also smashed a half-century for his side off just 37 deliveries while Carl Hooper remained unbeaten at 33.

For Warriors, Daniel Vettori bagged three wickets while Courtney Walsh and Andrew Symonds shared two wickets between themselves.

Replying to the target of 219 runs, Warriors bounced back after losing openers Micheal Vaughan and Mathew Haden for a duck and 12 runs respectively

Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara and Jacques Kallis smashed 42 and 47 respectively.

Australia’s Ricky Ponting remained unbeaten at 43, smashing three boundaries and two sixes to help his side claim victory.

Kallis was adjudged as ‘Man of the match’ while Sangakkara was declared as ‘Man of the series’.

Sachin’s Blasters had lost first match by six wickets and second match by 57 runs.
