Albeit without its biggest stars in Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo or Andre Russell, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has nonetheless chosen a strong squad for the team’s four Twenty20s against Pakistan. In-form Jason Mohammed and three other uncapped players - Jonathan Carter, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul and Rovman Powell - have been selected in the 16-man squad announced by the board on Saturday.

The team is led by all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, and has the weight of seasoned professionals as batsmen Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard and Marlon Samuels, and bowlers Jason Holder, Jerome Taylor and Sunil Narine.

The series begins in Barbados on March 26, followed by three One-Day Internationals and three Tests.

Squad: Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite (c), Jonathan Carter, Andre Fletcher, Jason Holder, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Sunil Narine, Veerasammy Permaul, Kieron Pollard, Rovman Powell, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton, Keswick Williams.
