India innings:

INDIA BEATS SRI LANKA BY SEVEN WICKETS for fourth successive win. India will finish on top of Group A.

IND 109/3 after 14 overs: Nothing is going right for Sri Lanka today. Yet another drop, this time from the captain Chamari and Jemimah is the beneficiary. Not that India is in trouble, it needs just five runs to win.

IND 104/3 after 13 overs: No signs of letting up from India. Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma still going about the chase in earnest and coolly collects 9 runs from the over. Will they finish it in the next over? Just 10 required.

IND 95/3 after 12 overs:  India doesn't really need to anything big here. Just the ones and twos would still be more than enough to cross the finish line. After all, it needs only 19 from 48 balls.

IND 89/3 after 11 overs: WICKET! Shafali falls short of a half-century yet again, departs for 47 after running herself out.

IND 86/2 after 10 overs: WICKET! Shafali now toying with the Sri Lanka. She steps across to the right of the off stump and lobs it over short fine leg for a boundary. Harmanpreet, in a hurry to finish the innings, goes over the top after taking strike, but fails to get the distance right and departs after a promising stay (15 runs).

IND 74/1 after 9 overs: India needs just 40 runs from 66 balls.

IND 67/1 after 8 overs: Two boundaries and a six from Harmanpreet in the over. A return to form just in time for the semifinals from the Indian captain?

IND 52/1 after 7 overs: A quiet over. India still comfortably placed to register its fourth successive win. It needs 62 runs in 78 balls.

IND 49/1 after 6 overs: End of Powerplay: Shafali Verma, after collecting 16 runs in 16 balls, quite slow for her reputation, finally takes the aerial route: a four, a mighty six and a boundary straight down the ground gets her strike-rate back to the expected level.

IND 34/1 after 5 overs: SMRITI MANDHANA OUT! Prabodhani gets the first wicket for Sri Lanka. Smriti Mandhana, who was looking good and aggressive in her short stay, departs after playing across the line. Dilhari takes a sitting catch at mid-on much to the relief of the Sri Lankans.

IND 33/0 after 4 overs: Smriti Mandhana has taken over the attacking role today. Captain Chamari bowled a tight over, but Smriti spoils the equation with another sweetly timed boundary in the last ball.

IND 27/0 after 3 overs: ANOTHER DROPPED CHANCE. Shafali living dangerously here. Smriti eases things with back-to-back boundaries.

IND 16/0 after 2 overs: SHAFALI DROPPED!  The Indian punishes for the mistake with two fours in the over. India 16-0 after 2 overs.

IND 6/0 after 1 over:  Hear, hear, hear:  Shafali Verma begins with a boundary, of course.  How good has she been in this tournament? But Sri Lanka keeps her under check.

SL 104/8 after 19 overs: WICKET: Harmanpreet takes an excellent catch, running towards the boundary the line and pouching at the ball at the right moment in the last ball of the over. Poonam takes a wicket in the last ball of her spell.

SL 99/7 after 18 overs:  Just the singles and twos in this over. Deepti Sharma finishes with 1-16 in her four-over spell.

SL 93/7 after 17 overs: A good over for Sri Lanka at last. Nine runs and no wicket lost.  Considering India's batting hasn't really fired so far, what do you think would be a challenging total? They have three overs to do a little bit of damage.

SL 84/7 after 16 overs: WICKET! Radha Yadav picks up her fourth wicket, an lbw call challenged by Sanjeewani, but the decision stays and Sri Lanka is in all sorts of trouble.  India has now picked three wickets in the last three overs, never really allowing Sri Lankan batters to flex their muscles to put up a challenging total.

SL 80/6 after 15 overs: WICKET! Sri Lanka in trouble. No substantial partnership so far as Rajeshwari picks her second wicket after a brilliant running catch at long on by Veda again.

SL 76/5 after 14 overs: WICKET: Veda Krishnamurthy finds her balance just in the nick of time to halt inside the boundary line after taking a high catch backstepping. A step more and it would have been a six. Radha Yadav sends Hansima Karunaratne back for her third wicket of the night.

SL 73/4 after 13 overs: A chance for India to send Hansini back, but dropped.

SL  66/4 after 12 overs: No signs of urgency from Sri Lanka. It is still managing the odd boundary. Remember, captain Chamari said the team was looking to score around 120. It may be on course for that though.

SL 60/4 after 11 overs. WICKET: Radha Yadav gets Madhushika to edge one to wicketkeeper Taniya Bhatia. She anticipates the drift well and pockets a smart catch to end Madhushika's innings. India's bowling has been

SL 52/3 after 10 overs: Two overs down and no wickets for Poonam Yadav, yet. But she has kept the run rate under control with just nine runs collected from her spell.

SL 50/3 after 9 overs: WICKET: Captain Chamari looked threatening, but departs after holing out to a well-placed Shikha Pandey off Radha Yadav's bowling, going for her second boundary after hitting a six only in the previous ball.

SL 42/2 after 9 overs:   A Wicket maiden for Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Madhavi exposes her stumps and Rajeswari gets the ball to go through her legs and dislodge the leg and middle-stump. Just a length ball, but Madhavi plays a wrong line and mistimes.

Madhavi was caught on the crease even as she shuffled and exposed her stumps, the length ball skid through a little to beat her defence and take out middle and l

SL after 6 overs: 35/1:

SL after 5 overs: 32/1: Chamari was dropped by wicketkeeper. Chamari edges again in the next ball, but it races to the boundary live. Chamari living a charmed life.

SL after 4 overs: 24/1: Shikha leaks runs. Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu hits the last ball down the ground for a boost of confidence.

SL after 3 overs: A successful over for India. Umesha Thimashini's wicket and just two runs from the over.

WICKET: 12/1 after 2.1 overs: : Deepti bowls a length ball, Umesha Thimashini tries to step out and swing, but ends up offering a simple catch to Rajeshwari Gayakwad at point.

SL after 2 overs: 12/0: Another six runs from the second over.

SL after 1 over: 6/0: Deepti opens the bowling for India. Chamari Athapaththu pays for the defensive line with a boundary.

TOSS: Sri Lanka wins the toss and elects to bat. Which means - India will be chasing for the first time in the tournament and it comes in the last league match for the Indian team.

India, which have already qualified for the semifinals with three wins in a row, is fielding an unchanged side.

Playing XI:

The Preview

A semifinal berth secured, the unbeaten Indian women’s cricket team would look to address some of its batting issues in the final Group A match against a deflated Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup here on Saturday.

The Indians are on a roll, having easily sealed their semifinal berth with wins over defending champions Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The Lankans, on the other hand, are out of the semifinal race following two losses so far.

While India beat hosts Australia by 17 runs in the tournament opener, they defeated Bangladesh by 18 runs before eking out a narrow four-run victory over the White Ferns on Thursday.

And come Saturday, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side would look to end its group engagements on a high when it takes on the islanders.

But the Indians definitely have a few things to worry about, especially their below-par show with the bat, going into the business end of the tournament.
