Yuvraj Singh has been far from spectacular after his return to the national team in the Twenty20 format, but on the opening match of the Asia Cup Twenty20 in Mirpur on Wednesday, he crossed the individual milestone of 1000 plus runs. He made 15 off 16 balls against Bangladesh which took his tally to 1008 (712 balls) from 41 innings in 47 matches. His average is a fraction lower than 30.

Once recalled for the three-match Twenty20 series in Australia, the left-handed batsman, has not had many scoring opportunities. In Sydney though, he made an unbeaten 15 that steered India past the finishing line and to a 3-0 clean sweep.
