The youngsters, who will attend the trials here on Saturday, were picked as part of the Kerala Blasters Youth Development programme which offers them a chance to play in the ISL. Former international N.P. Pradeep, the Blasters’ player scout, worked closely with the team’s head coach Steve Coppell and assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed over the last few months hunting for promising young players from all over Kerala and in other States too. “There is tremendous talent in Kerala and our intention is to provide these players the opportunity to hone their skills by rubbing shoulders with the senior professionals. Exceptional players from the trials will be considered for a place in the Kerala Blasters team,” said Pradeep.
