  • Both managers will want to see more from their sides in the second half. Tite will be disappointed given that this is his starting front three that they've not been able to trouble Argentina more at the back. Without Lionel Messi there's an opportunity for Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi to prove that they can be the main men for their side. An interesting second period awaits.
  • It's goalless at the break between Argentina and Brazil in Jeddah in a half of few chances. Brazil had the best opening of the first period when Miranda saw his close-range strike cleared off the line by Nicolas Otamendi. 36' The game needs a spark of quality from somewhere, both teams have been lacking a clinical edge in the final third.

Miranda's first touch was excellent and his second was not a bad one either, being a denied a goal only by the action of the Argentina defender on the line.

15' Neymar whips his corner into the box and Miranda attacks the ball, only to power his header well over the bar.

14' Neymar swings his delivery into a dangerous area in front of Romero, but Icardi acts in front of his keeper to stab the ball behind for a corner.
