Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon played his 100th Champions League game for the Old Lady on Wednesday as he led them against Monaco in the first leg of the semifinal.

The 39-year-old joined Juve in 2001, and has lifted the Serie A title seven times while finishing runner-up in the Champions League on two occasions.

He becomes the second Italian to achieve this record for one club after Paolo Maldini, who represented AC Milan in 106 Champions League matches.

The legendary left-back's tally will likely be surpassed by Buffon, who has no plans of retiring any time soon.

Buffon and Juventus can still mark a treble in 2016-17, as it remains competitive in three competitions.
