MATCH REPORT |

AND IT'S FULL TIME!!! ARSENAL 2 - 1 LIVERPOOL!!!!!!

90' Five minutes of stoppage time to be added on at the end of the second half! WHAT A MISS!!! Joe Willock should have made it 3-1 for Arsenal. Wonderful move forward from Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Willock misses a sitter.

86' WHAT A CHANCE!!! Sadio Mane almost scored there. Ainsley Maitland-Niles recovered well after an initial stumble. But that pass from Andy Robertson was spot on. Mane should have at least managed a shot on target though.

81' YELLOW CARD! Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka gets booked for a silly foul on Liverpool's Naby Keita. SUBSTITUTION! Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp brings in Divock Origi for Mohamed Salah. One last throw of the dice for the champion.

76' SUBSTITUTION! Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares makes way for Ainsley Maitland-Niles now. Liverpool has attempted 18 shots tonight, while Arsenal has scored with the two shots it has attempted. INJURY! Granit Xhaka goes to the ground and the Arsenal physio comes into the field to take a look.

73' Immediately after the cooling/drinks break, Liverpool wins yet another corner. Trent Alexander-Arnold makes a short pass with his right. Sadio Mane receives the ball and sends in a beautiful cross into the box. Arsenal's defenders somehow manage to clear the ball away.

67' ANOTHER CORNER FOR LIVERPOOL!! This is the team's ninth corner of the match. Andy Robertson will take with his left. WHAT A CHANCE!!! After a pin ball game inside the box, the ball falls to Takumi Minamino who was very close to the goal. But Kieran Tierney's crucial tackle averts the danger.

61' LIVERPOOL CHANGES! Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp makes a double substitution now. He brings in Takumi Minamino and Naby Keita for Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Liverpool has close to 70% possession but the team is still unable to find the equaliser.

56' SUBSTITUTIONS!!! Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made three changes at one go here. Dani Ceballos, Joe Willock and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have replaced Lucas Torreira, Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson respectively in the middle.

48' TWO YELLOW CARDS! A player from each tea, has been booked so far in the second half. Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira was the first to go into the referee's book after a reckless tackle. Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was carded a couple of minutes later. VAR CHECK FOR RED CARD! No red card for Trent.

AND THE SECOND HALF IS UNDERWAY!

Forty-five minutes to go. Stay tuned!

AND IT'S HALF-TIME!!!!

44' GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! ARSENAL 2 - 1 LIVERPOOL!! NELSON SCORES!!! Another Liverpool mistake, another Arsenal goal!! This time it was Alisson. It was a Liverpool throw-in. The ball was thrown straight at the Liverpool keeper. He completed a weak pass and Lacazette was the first to the ball. He passed it to Reiss Nelson who found the back of the net with an exquisite finish.

38' CORNER FOR LIVERPOOL!! Left-back Andy Robertson won it and he'll take the set-piece. He puts in a decent delivery into the box. The ball falls to Sadio Mane whose header just misses the target. Replays suggest Joe Gomez was in a better position than Mane.

32' GOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!!! ARSENAL 1 - 1 LIVERPOOL!!! LACAZETTE SCORES!! Horrible mistake from Virgil Van Dijk. He was inside the box with the ball. He took too much time. Reiss Nelson tackled him cleanly to win the ball and passed it to Alexandre Lacazette who dribbled past Liverpool keeper Alisson and scored.

26' CHANCE! Trent Alexander-Arnold made a brilliant move forward on the right flank. However, he puts too much power on his through ball to Mohamed Salah. Goal-kick for Arsenal now. Liverpool has come close to scoring yet again. It might double its lead soon.

20' GOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! LIVERPOOL 1 - 0 ARSENAL!!! SADIO MANE SCORES!!!!!! This was a brilliant team move from Liverpool. Roberto Firmino with a through pass to Andy Robertson whose low cross found Mane. The Senegal forward found the back of the net with a neat finish.

15' WHAT A CHANCE!!!! Roberto Firmino hits the post for Liverpool. Arsenal's defence is looking clueless here. However, the ball is still with the visitor. OFFSIDE! Mohamed Salah was a bit too eager to get into the box there. Liverpool is dominating possession by a huge margin.

10' CORNER FOR LIVERPOOL NOW! Trent Alexander-Arnold will take it. Arsenal players are giving away the ball very easily. It's a short corner. SHOT! Virgil Van Dijk receives the ball at the edge of the box but it is blocked by the Arsenal defenders. The rebound falls to Fabinho whose cross goes wide.

5' CORNER FOR ARSENAL! This was the home team's first proper move forward and it has won a corner straightaway. It's been all Liverpool so far, until this moment. Andy Robertson is almost playing like a left winger here. CHANCE! Great corner execution from Arsenal but Liverpool's defence is alert as the danger is averted.

MATCH PREVIEW:

The 2019-20 Premier League champion Liverpool will continue its quest of breaking the English league's record points tally when it takes on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gunners, after initially undergoing a positive restart period, have drifted away slightly. They notably drew 1-1 with Leicester City while slumping to a 2-1 defeat in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's side suffered a setback in its pursuit of top-flight immortality at the weekend, with a 1-1 draw at home to top-half club Burnley.

Liverpool currently has 93 points on the board, leading second-placed Manchester City by 21 points. And with just three matches remaining, it is needless to say that the Reds will be hoping to reach the 100-point milestone, while also ousting Man City’s 2017/18 record of winning the league by 19 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal has now thrown away a whopping 21 points from winning positions this season - a tally which, if added to its current points total, would leave it third in the table, only a point behind last season's champion Manchester City.

Arsenal manager Arteta has hinted that he might want to rest some of the key players ahead of the FA Cup semifinal against Manchester City. Nicolas Pepe returned to the starting lineup against Tottenham on the weekend and should retain his place in the side.
