Leicester City has snapped up goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic from Hull City for an undisclosed fee, both clubs confirmed Wednesday.

The 2015/16 Premier League champion has brought in the Bosnian-born Swiss on a three-year deal, with the fee in the region of £2.5 million ($3.25 million, 2.8 million euros), according to British media reports.

The 32-year-old left the Tigers' Portuguese training camp at the weekend to finalise the move, and he's now been confirmed as the East Midlands club's third summer signing, following in the footsteps of former Hull team-mate Harry Maguire and Vicente Iborra, who arrived from Sevilla.

Jakupovic joined Hull in 2012 and was the club's longest-serving player, making 55 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit, including 22 last season as Hull was relegated to the Championship.

Jakupovic, who has one international cap for Switzerland, is likely to be the deputy to first-choice keeper Kasper Schmeichel, but that didn't put him off a move to the King Power Stadium.

"I'm very happy and excited that the deal is finally done. I'm very excited to be a part of something special here and I can't wait for the first game," said Jakupovic.

"I knew from the beginning that it will be difficult for myself because Kasper [Schmeichel] is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

"I'm going to fight and I'm here to push. A healthy competition is always good and that's only a positive thing. For sure, I'll wait for my chance but I am here and I'm very excited."

Jakupovic started his career at Swiss side Grasshopper Club Zurich before subsequent spells in Russia and Greece.
