Brendan Rodgers said he will not be fazed should one of the 'big six' make an offer for Harry Maguire.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers insists he is not worried about Premier League rivals showing an interest in Harry Maguire.

England defender Maguire has reportedly attracted interest from some of the division's biggest clubs this season, with Manchester United heavily linked as a potential suitor ahead of the campaign.

Rodgers – who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Watford in his first game in charge of the club on Sunday – will not be fazed should one of the 'big six' make an offer for the 26-year-old.

"He wins his headers, he's very powerful and he's brave," Rodgers told a media conference.

"But the type of game I have always promoted, they need to have some comfort on the ball at the back, and he can step in, make passes, so he's a big talent.

"They [Premier League rivals] may well come in, but it doesn't worry me. I think all you can worry about is that you make the team the very best they can be.

"You always have to be prepared for that moment as a club. It happens. But at this moment in time, I'm thinking about the team, and making it the best that we can."

Rodgers takes charge of his first home game at the weekend against struggling Fulham and Maguire has no doubts that Leicester's players will soon adapt to the former Celtic boss' methods.

"It'll take time for him to get his points across. He's only been in for a couple of days, so he keeps giving us little pointers about where he wants us to improve," Maguire told the club's official website.

"I'm sure he's got a philosophy in how he wants to play, and the boys will buy into it so I'm sure that we'll be very successful."
