Jill Roord scored the first hat-trick of the season as Arsenal thrashed Reading 6-1 in the WSL on Sunday.

Here's a round-up of all the results from Sunday's Women's Super League fixtures:

Arsenal vs Reading

It's business as usual for Arsenal as it completed a dominant 6-1 win over Reading in its Women's Super League opener on Sunday.

Kim Little opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 15th minute while a hat-trick from Jill Roord and a brace from Vivianne Miedema finishing the job for Joe Montemurro's side.

Reading found the back of the net just once, with former Arsenal player Danielle Carter managing to peg one back for the visitor, some shabby work at the post by Manuela Zinsberger helping her cause.

Arsenal takes on Wet Ham away while Reading will look to find a win when it hosts WSL debutant Aston Villa.

Chelsea settles for draw against Manchester United

Despite dominating the first half, with a crisp strike from Sam Kerr to show for on the scoreboard, a wasteful Chelsea settled for a draw against Manchester United in its WSL opener.

United, which looked better coordinated in the second half, levelled the scores with just about 10 minutes of regulation time left with Leah Galton converting a low cross from Jackie Groenen.

Defending champion Chelsea drew first blood, with Fran Kirby, who missed out on over a year of action due a pericarditis diagnosis, was back to her pacey self, supplying a sublime cross to Kerr who, despite eventually missing quite a few chances, converted this to put the visitor ahead.

Chelsea's star signing Pernille Harder was brought on in the final 10 minutes but could not contribute to the score sheet to help her side manage a win.

Chelsea hosts Bristol City while United travels to Birmingham City next weekend.

Everton cruises past Bristol City

Lucy Graham led from the front as Everton beat Bristol City 4-0.

Simone Magill had some help from Graham to open the scoring for the visitor, with the Everton skipper scoring the next two - one of the counter and another a spot kick - to put Everton firmly in front. Valerie Gauvin's late strike was the final nail in the coffin with Bristol unable to respond in kind.

While the host will rue the chances missed, it did make Everton work for the three points.

Bristol travels to meet champion Chelsea while Everton hosts the Spurs next weekend.

Spurs, West Ham slog to a draw

A frustrating game filled with chances for both sides saw Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United grind out a 1-1 draw.

After hitting the woodwork many a times, an own goal from Grace Fisk handed the Spurs the lead. Adriana Leon's superb solo goal then helped the Hammers save the game with both sides settling for a point apiece in their WSL opener.

Depleted Birmingham folds to Brighton

It was a fairly easy task for Brighton to wrap up a 2-0 win over Birmingham City at home in their WSL opener.

The West Midlands side managed to field only four substitutes, two of those news signings against Brighton. However, the side could not overcome the two-goal deficit courtesy second half strikes from Megan Connolly and Inessa Kaagman.

Birmingham City's new head coach Carla Ward may have gotten off to  rocky start but will hope her side bounces back despite a stern test at home against Manchester United net weekend while Brighton will face runner-up Manchester City on the road.
