The loss will certainly sting, but Chennai City FC remains on top of the I-League table despite the 3-2 loss to Churchill Brothers. Chennai City will have another chance to seal the I-League title when it takes on Minerva Punjab in its final home game, which is likely to be played on March 10.

60' For those of you who have just joined us, Chennai City is a win away from sealing its maiden I-League title! Churchill Brothers leads 2-1 at the hour mark and Chennai City has another 30 minutes to turn this game around and secure the title.

49' CHANCE! Willis Plaza has a great chance to put Churchill 2-1 up. But with the goal gaping after Mauro failed to latch onto the ball, he inexplicably lobs the ball over the crossbar.

Half-time Churchill Brothers 1-1 Chennai City FC. Sandro Rodriguez put Chennai City ahead at the half-hour mark and Willis Plaza pulled Churchill level in the 38th minute to leave this fixture evenly poised at half-time.

41' Nicholas Fernandes wriggles past two Chennai City defenders and has a shot at goal. His attempt takes a deflection, balloons up in the air and goes for a corner off the top of the crossbar. The momentum has changed here and Churchill looking the likeliest to score a second goal.

 

39' GOAL! Willis Plaza pulls Churchill Brothers level with a side-footed finish. Just when the home team was struggling to string few passes together and Chennai City had the upper hand, Plaza finds himself at the right place at the right time and meets the cross from the left with aplomb. We are level 1-1. That's the 19th goal of the season for Plaza!

37' Regin Michael is shown a yellow card and Churchill has another free-kick in the attacking half. Chennai City has taken the sting out of the home team as we head into the last eight minutes of the half.

12' CHANCE! Churchill's Christ Lorougnon tries to latch onto a long ball, but he doesn't get a good enough touch and the bouncing ball is cleared for a corner which the home team doesn't make the most of. But this is easily the best chance of the match so far.

9' Churchill's Khalid Aucho takes a free-kick 25 yards from goal. He goes for power and smashes his attempt straight into the wall.

5' Both teams feeling their way into the match. There has not been much goalmouth action in these opening minutes, with Churchill dominating possession.
