Aizawl FC and Indian Arrows, two teams languishing towards the bottom of the I-League points table, played out a goalless draw on Friday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

Arrows, the host, had looked forward to securing its second win of the season against an under-firing opponent. The team, in the first half, was seemingly more eager to score a goal, as compared to its opponent. However, Aizawl FC had better possession.

Arrows, in the second half, too, showcased some good passing skills. But the team’s lack of creativity inside the box let it down. Aizawl did make a few attempts to score, but none of them was close enough to unsettle Arrows goalkeeper Prabhsukan Gill.

Arrows again increased its tempo by the middle of the second-half, but couldn’t convert the chances.

One of the best chances the team had was in the 80th minute. An excellent shot from Boris hit the Aizawl FC woodwork.

Arrows captain Amarjit Singh was adjudged Hero of the Match.

Indian Arrows occupies the 10th position in the points table, while Aizawl FC, with six points from nine matches, is ninth.
